Indications your child is at risk for an Autism Spectrum Disorder:
· Seems to be in his/her “own world”
· Limited interest in other children
· Poor response to his/her name
· Lack of appropriate eye gaze
· Lack of showing gestures such as pointing
· No joyful expressions—doesn’t smile when smiled at
· Doesn’t share interest or enjoyment
· Prefers to play alone
· Delayed language development
· Use of unusual language
· Repetitive movements with objects
· Repetitive movements or posturing of body, arms, hands, or fingers
· Resists change in daily routine
· Repetitive or intense interests in objects, activities, or topics
· Over or under reaction to sensory aspects in their environment
· Any loss or delay of language or social skills
